CD Review

This recording is a classic modern folk collection. Well sung, well played and well arranged. bob Alster has been around the folk scene since the 1960’s and he shows an understanding for the music on this CD.. From Dave Von Ronk’s funky folk blues to Dylans “Dont think Twice” the performances are all pleasing to the ear. particular pieces of interest to me were an unusually laid back “Yankee Lady”, Bob’s original 12 string piece “Hardwood Flats” and a heartfelt version of Michael Smith’s “the Dutchman” with some beautiful guitar runs.

I first listened to this CD on a drive from Grand Junction colorado to Summit County Colorado and the music blended perfectly with the Colorado Mountain Scenery.
